The African Americans in WNC and Southern Appalachia Conference illuminates the African American experience in Southern Appalachia including history, culture, community, and enterprise. Now in its 6th year, the three-day conference seeks to eradicate incomplete and false narratives about African Americans in this region, while creating new possibilities for the future.
Call for Proposals
We are now accepting proposals for panels, papers, posters, and roundtables on the African American experience in Western North Carolina and Southern Appalachia.
